Organized at Madison, IN and mustered in August 20, 1862. Ordered to Louisville, KY and attached to 1st Brigade, 2nd Division, Army of Kentucky, Dept. of the Ohio. The Regiment lost a total of 249 men; one Officer and 52 Enlisted men were killed and two Officers and 194 Enlisted men succumbed to disease.  The chronology below shows their assignments, service, and engagements with the enemy:     Reference.

The only comprehensive regimental history written on the 67th Indiana was compiled by Reuben B. Scott in 1892 (The History of the 67th Regiment Indiana Infantry Volunteers; Bedford, Herald printer).  This unit history is out print and difficult to obtain.
